Here are a few words you'll often find associated with a SSD hearing: Administrative Law Judge, which is also called an "ALJ."

Prior to a hearing your SSD lawyer and the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) will often hold a discussion about the nature of the case and procedural issues that will be addressed at the hearing.

The hearing will involve testimony of medical experts and your SSD lawyer may swear you in to testify.
