Special Needs Trust & SSI

I saw this Elder Law article about Special Needs Trusts. There are some financial considerations you must consider when looking to create a Special Needs Trust. There are also a variety of factors that impact SSI and Medicaid.

For those that are not familiar with a Special Needs Trust:
Did you know that Federal law allows a disabled person's fund to be place in an irrevocable d(4) trust? A restriction is the disabled person must be under the age of 65. Also, the trust can be established by a parent, grandparent, legal guardian, or by a circuit court judge.

If you get a chance, check out the article.
